Gov-Easy Customer Service Portal

The Building Department is pleased to announce the Gov-Easy Customer Service Portal will be live effective immediately. Please review the how-to tutorials listed below. Online payments are currently not accepted. We will provide updates as they become available.

Access Online Permitting Portal (Gov-Easy)

Effective January 1, 2024

In preparation of the transition to the 8th Edition 2023 Florida Building Code that will go into effect January 1, 2024, the Building Department will require the following:

  • All building record applications to fall under the 7th Edition 2020 Florida Building Code, will need to be submitted and initial permit application fees paid by Friday, December 29, 2023, 3:00pm.
  • Any record that has been submitted and has unpaid initial permit application fees on December 29, 2023, at 3:00pm, will be removed from the system and will require to be reapplied for under the new 8th Edition 2023 Florida Building Code.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause however it is necessary to transition into the new code.

The Department is responsible for permit issuance and Florida Building Code-related plan review and inspections, which safeguard the public’s health, safety, and general welfare.

Permit Application and Plan Review

Permit Applications should be submitted through the Gov-Easy portal. You may also submit an electronic link via email, or a USB containing all documents may be submitted at Village Hall.

For the time being, in person payments for permitting fees are still required (check, money order, cash).

Note the following requirements when preparing the electronic plans for submission.

  1. One PDF per trade, with valid digital signatures. One PDF for each supporting document booklet i.e., Calculations, NOA, etc.
  2. Please ensure that you leave the upper-right corner of the plans blank (empty), per the below sizes:
    • 8.5 x 11 plan requires a 2x2 blank (empty) area
    • 11 x 17 plan requires a 3x3 blank (empty) area
    • 24 x 36 plan requires a 4.5 x 4.5 (empty) area
    • 30x42 plan requires a 4.5x4.5 (empty) area.
    • 36x48 plan requires a 4.5x4.5 (empty) area.

Applications

Permitted Construction Hours

Permitted construction hours are as follows:

Monday through Friday      8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday        No Work Permitted 

Construction Work during Holidays

Construction work will be allowed on the following holidays:

  • Martin Luther King Day
  • Presidents Day
  • Labor Day
  • Columbus Day
  • Friday following Thanksgiving Day
  • Veteran’s Day

Construction work will NOT be allowed on the following holidays:

  • New Year’s Day - January 1
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day - July 4
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day - December 25

If any of the aforementioned allowable work holidays falls on a Saturday or Sunday, work is ONLY permitted on Friday or Monday.

Inspections

You may schedule, cancel, or find the status of an inspection through the Gov-Easy portal, or by calling (305) 865-4121.

Inspections requested before 3 pm, Monday through Friday excluding holidays, will be scheduled for the next business day. Inspections scheduled after 3 pm will be scheduled for the 2nd business day.

Inspections cannot be requested more than 24 hours in advance.

Cancellation of an inspection must be done prior to 8 a.m. for an inspection that is scheduled for later that day.
